    36th Annual Poetry Competition

    Competition Rules:

    Word docs are preferable, though PDFs will be accepted.

    Poems must be:

    • 100% Original
    • Previously unpublished
    • No more than two pages
    Each contestant may enter one poem only.
    Writers must be one of the following:
    • Live within 200 miles of Carl Sandburg College District 518
    • Must have attended Sandburg

    Note: Teachers may submit poems on behalf of their class/students.

    Four categories:

    • Elementary (1st-5th)
    • Junior (6th-8th)
    • Intermediate (9th-12th)
    • Adult

    Submissions accepted Dec. 1 to Mar. 31, 2025
    Winners banquet to be held April 29 in the STC atrium. Time to be determined.
